How Long
Do Hemorrhoids Last?

how long do hemorrhoids last?

People frequently ask: How long do hemorrhoids last?

The answer to that question is really pretty simple: It depends on how bad they are and what you do about them.

Most People
Can Get Rid of This Problem Permanently

As with most physical conditions, hemorrhoids don't just happen. They are usually the result of personal life habits.

Because most people never significantly change what they do healthwise, their conditions never change much.

But, with hemorrhoids, if they are not too far advanced, and if a person is not too too old, he/she can usually get rid of the forever! Or at least reduce them significantly. Even if you've had them for a long time.

What Are Hemorrhoid Veins?

We all have these veins. They are a very important part of our anatomy.

The these veins serve a very important function. They have a rather direct path to the Liver.

What they do is bring the blood from the rectum to to liver for detoxification so that we don't absorb poisons that can be found in our solid waste material (feces) as they sit in the colon.

What we refer to as "Hemorrhoids" are these veins which have expanded abnormally.

What Causes This Abnormality?

Improper diet, lack of exercise, too much sitting, poor bowel function (constipation), straining for bowel movements, and childbirth are the main causes of hemorrhoids.

So how long do hemorrhoids lasts? That will depend on what you do to correct them.

If all you do is use creams, suppositories, and surgeries, you're going to have them forever. None of these remedies does anything to correct the cause of your hemorrhoids.

For most people, surgeries are not necessary. And this type of surgery is MAJOR painful!

Hemorrhoid Surgery is Not Needed In Most Cases

Surgery for hemorrhoids is supposed to be hideously painful. And in some advanced cases there really is no other way to get rid of them.

For most others there is a marvelous newer removal technique technique called: CRH-O'Regan Disposable Hemorrhoid Banding System.

For most internal hemorrhoids, this process is almost painless and completely removes the need for outdated surgery.

For external hemorrhoids this method is not an option. But, a change in lifestyle and regular massage therapy can cause many external hemorrhoids to shrink back to normal and never bother you again.

Why So Many People Have Hemorrhoids

The reason so many people have them is that, in modern society, we all follow some very similar life styles. That is why the question: "How long do hemorrhoids last?" is such a common one. So many people have them.

One prominent Los Angeles gastroenterologist I spoke with told me everyone over 40 has them.

But, young people get them also. Especially young women during childbirth.

Straining at the toilet, or pushing out a baby, can put huge pressure on the lower bowel and cause hemorrhoids. It's pretty much like blowing up a balloon!

If the walls of the vein were strong enough, the added pressure would rarely make them expand this way. But, due to our common dietary habits (and lack of proper exercise) these walls are often not as strong as they should be. And even when blood vessels are strong, an enormous amount of unusual pressure can still overwhelm them.

This is why many champion Body Builders (muscle men), who you would think have the strongest veins, have them. They often strain very hard when performing certain exercises.

There is also the matter of congestion. When these veins get too much accumulation in them, the blood flow becomes diminished and they can weaken and expand also.

So, How Long Do Hemorrhoids Last?

So let's get back to the original question: How long do hemorrhoids last?

As you learned, hemorrhoids can last your whole life. But, in most cases, they can be gotten rid of forever. Especially if taken care of before they become too large. And, if you handle what is causing them to form.

How Do I Get Rid Of Them?

The first thing you should do is go see you doctor, or better yet, a doctor who specializes in the anus and rectum and get a good thorough examination and evaluation. Find out what you have. And make sure it is hemorrhoids that are your problem.

After that, if all you have is stage 1 or 2 hemorrhoids, you can most likely get rid of them with some corrective lifestyle changes and some regular massage therapy. "How long do hemorrhoids last?" then becomes a question of how severe they are.

Massage for these minor hemorrhoids, just like prostate massage, can be very very effective in reversing and/or removing the condition. And that's all these things are, a condition. Not a disease.

Just as prostate massage brings lots of fresh blood to the prostate gland, so does hemorrhoid massage bring lots of fresh blood to the swollen congested veins in your anus and rectum.

And, just as prostate massage helps clean and strengthen the prostate with this extra blood flow, so does some proper massage help clean and strengthen the veins in the anus and rectum.

This cleaning and strengthening enables the veins to return to normal size, function, and health.

I have a very popular page called: Hemorrhoid Treatment That Works! You may want to go and read that now.

So how long do hemorrhoids last? That's up to you, the severity of your condition, and how you care for them.
