Vitamin C is required by every cell in your body. Every single one.
All the animals and plants on the planet, with the exception of the Human being, the ape, the guinea pig, one form or rodent, and one type of trout produce this Vitamin within their body.
Researchers believe there was some human genetic problem (hundreds of thousands of years ago) that damaged the human ability to create this Vitamin internally.
On the best diet, there is barely enough of this nutrient in the foods we eat to meet our minimum biological needs. In cases of stress or serious disease (such as prostate cancer) the body requires vastly larger amounts of the Vitamin.
Even a medium sized dog produces about 2 1/2 grams (2,500 mg) every day under normal conditions. This amount can quadruple (4X) under stress.
It is estimated, an average man (with no disease or unusual stress) requires about 7-10 grams (7,000 - 10,000mg) per day for optimum health.
I personally have taken 12-16 grams a day for the past fourteen years. I am virtually never sick! If I get a cold (maybe once in 3 or 4 years), I increase my intake to about 36 grams for the day. The cold is gone within 24 hours.
Dr. J. Leuchaeur, who successfully works with prostate cancer
patients, recommends as much as 60 grams (60,000mgs) per day for this
disease along with a
Primitive Diet.
This has been used effectively as the entire prostate treatment. He has saved countless lives.
The idea is to keep the tissues saturated with this substance so that they can function optimally. This is what happens in all the other mammals.
In laboratory tests, certain rats that were subjected to extreme stress were found to produce their own body weight of this substance in a single Day!
"In Nature
an animal's body does not produce all of it's C at
once.
It is produced continually.
Because we take it orally,
taking it
all at once is too much at one time."
It is used up rapidly and needs to be taken regularly throughout the day to be most effective. It is usually taken in even amounts about every hour or two.
When you take it orally you can overdose. Either too much at once, or too much for the day. The only thing that really happens is: you get gas. If the overdose is too large, you get diarrhea.
If those things happen, simply lessen the amount until the symptoms disappear.
Unlike virtually every other vitamin, the natural Vitamin C and synthetic L-ascorbic acid are chemically identical and there are no known differences in their biological activities or bio-availability. So, it doesn't matter which brand you buy.
Vitamin C Crystals usually seem to be the most economical. 1/2 teaspoon gives you 2,000 mgs. Dissolved in 1/2 cup of water it has a tangy taste like lemonade.
Do yourself a favor and enjoy this supplement daily!
