I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in December 2006 - a cancer of the plasma cells in the blood that attacks the bones and other internal organs. I am doing a lot better - the cancer is not in remission but has acted "dormant" for almost one year now and all my bone lesions have healed. Recently, an MRI said my prostate was enlarged and the PSA was around 3.8 to 4.0 over the last few months. The Doctor's decided on a a prostate biopsy and I felt like a lamb being taken to the slaughter. Thank God for your web site William as I had started to experiment with prostate massage to get my PSA down and avoid the biopsy but to no avail. Your information on the horrors of prostate biopsy and your amazing link to Oregon Health Sciences University, along with some other divine intervention, allowed me to find the courage to cancel the biopsy the morning of the procedure! Just today, I walked into the Doctor's office and told him we will do "watchful waiting" until January 2009, allowing me time to work on my nutrition and of course, your wonderful suggestions. I will take a deep breath and read some more about the exercises and how to best do massage as I am separated from my wife and she moved to Arizona recently for 4 months. I can see that I will have to revisit the frequency of masturbation for my age (57) as I do find orgasm very calming when I get into bed at night and it puts me right to sleep.
